That opportunity grabbed by Armstrong with a motive to solve one of the biggest problems of villagers.

He saw that the people of Tousem(a Manipur sub-division, considered to be India’s most backward village), used to travel long by carrying rice sacks on their back, for hours, even the patients taken on bamboo stretchers due to unavailability of motorable roads. And, having a proper road to commute was the only wish of the villagers. He found the situation of how people had to first cross the river, or walk for more than five hours.

How Pame Solved this Problem

He then decided to give the villagers what they needed the most – a motorable road that connects them to the outside world so that they don’t have to travel for long.
