Today we will make Natural Homemade Pure Ghee. Ghee originated in ancient India. It is an essential and most common ingredient in the Indian kitchen. We can't even think of cooking and serving food without ghee. Ghee considered to be pure(Sattvik) hence used in all Indian festivals, Pooja and fasting.

Ghee is loaded with benefits, not only keep your skin soft but also good for lips. People apply ghee to have smooth and pinkish lips. Some people use ghee for Baby Massage.

Ingredients for Homemade Pure Ghee

  • Unsalted Butter – 2-3(200-500grams each depends on how much ghee you want to make)

Preparation Steps for Homemade Pure Ghee

  • Heat a heavy bottom vessel and add unsalted butter, keep the gas medium flame.
  • It will start melting of its own. Occasionally stir. 
  • Once it starts melting, keep the gas on low flame and stir with spatula or spoon till the butter melts completely. 
  • Stirring prevents the burn and gas will continue on low flame.
  • Butter will turn yellow in color and foam will start forming on top. 
  • After 5-6 min(time varies according to the quantity used) bubbles will start forming on the surface. Keep stirring. 
  • After 10 min melted butter will turn golden brown. 
  • Turn off the gas now and allow it to cool down to room temperature. 
  • You will see blackish residue settled at the bottom of the vessel. 
  • Filter the ghee using a sieve into the airtight container. I prefer a glass container. 
  • After 7-8 hours you will see the exact color of your PURE GHEE.
